Apple is expected to unveil new series of Macs in addition to MacBook Pro at a launch event on October 27. According to sources close to the company, the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to release a wide range of new MacBook computer. Interestingly, the venue of the launch is tagged as-yet-unannounced special event “at or near” Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Although we are not expecting any major changes, the new Macs will incorporate enhanced graphics performance with the possibility of a USB Type-C port. You can also expect support for 5K display with a massive resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels.
Talking about the pricing, the new Macs will be fixed at $1000 considering Thunderbolt Display and the addition of a graphics card.
We don’t have any specific information about the model numbers. However, rumors suggest that Apple will release three laptops, which includes a revamped edition of MacBook Pro and two Macs.
MacBook Pro Specifications
Talking about the specifications, the MacBook Pro will feature an Intel Skylake processor, up to 8GB RAM and a fast charging capability via USB-C port with support for Thunderbolt 3. The main attraction of the new MacBook will be the integration of a new OLED touch bar and Touch ID. Moreover, the design of the new MacBook will be thinner than the previous counterparts.
If rumors are to be believed, you can expect both 13-inch and 15-inch variants of MacBook Pro. Moreover, the laptops will be designed in such a way to provide a faster and longer battery life. There are reports that Apple will eliminate the headphone port to accommodate lightning port connector.
MacBook Pro will have OLED control strip
The OLED control strip likely to be embedded on the MacBook Pro is expected to replace the top row of function keys. It was Apple’s analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who first disclosed to the outside world about the possible integration of OLED touch bar. In his statement, Kuo revealed that the OLED bar will display app-specific customized contextual commands and common system controls.
Touch ID will provide support for Apple Pay
In addition to the OLED touch bar, Apple is also expected to incorporate Touch ID technology into the forthcoming MacBook. Even though there is no clear indication as to how this technology is to be implemented, the fingerprint sensor will probably simplify security. Furthermore, the sensor will have Apple Pay functionality since macOS Sierra provide support of the payment system.
If the rumors are correct, you can expect the launch of MacBook Pro by the end of October. Regarding pricing, you will have to shell out $100-$150 extra because of the latest features.
