Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus still the first choice of professional photographers

Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

Sephi Bergerson, a photographer formerly based in Israel and settled in India has captured the entire pictures of a posh Indian Rajasthan wedding using an Apple iPhone 6S Plus. Equipped with an iPhone 6S Plus, Bergerson covered the wedding of Ayushi Bhandari and Abhishek Singh, which took place for three days in Udaipur, Rajasthan in November 2015.

According to Bergerson, he was always interested in shooting wedding using iPhone but struggled to find a couple who are willing to take up the challenge. He observed that few couples had apprehensions about the quality of the images. He further revealed that the pictures were edited thoroughly using iPhone.

While daytime pictures came out really well, he applied few tricks in such a way to produce crisp images for capturing night-time images. Bergerson believes that iPhone offers an entirely new breed of camera.

With superb resolution and color rendition, the new iPhone 6S Plus was excellent for daytime photography. However, low light photography poses a big challenge since the ISO limit prohibited him from shooting without having motion blur.

Edited with Snapseed, Bergerson also added filters and re-touched faces using Facetune and Instagram. Capable of maintaining close contact with the photography subject, he was able to maintain eye contact while shooting.

Bergerson pointed out that the photos captured using iPhone came out in brilliant style, and some of the images have a painting-like touch to them. He agreed with the fact that smartphones do have its limitations especially in places where there is insufficient lighting.

Bergerson also revealed that smartphone sensors are better and bigger than those in digital cameras. Moreover, the device easily fit in shirt pockets or bag zippers.

With a smart camera under the simple cover, an iPhone consists of a darkroom and an online research directory under a single umbrella, observes Bergerson.

The debate about smartphones and digital cameras are not new with several phone addicts have been repeatedly pointing out various reasons for the usage of the smartphone for events.

With an increased megapixel count, smartphones also offer optical image stabilization, multiple lens arrays in addition to several other features.

Sephi Bergerson, an award-winning photographer, has been covering Indian weddings continuously for seven years, but the complete photography using iPhone 6S Plus was his first ever adventure.

The wedding was possibly the biggest I have ever photographed. The events took place in Udaipur over three incredible days, said Bergerson. He also disclosed that the place was beautifully decorated and was different from what he was seen from the previous weddings he covered.

That being said, the addition of front-facing cameras and availability of selfie sticks have thrown out a wide range of possibilities and new dimensions for shooting events like weddings entirely using smartphones.

Bergerson is the author of Behind the Indian Veil: A Journey Through Weddings in India and settled in Goa for the last 14 years.
