The renowned Chinese tech brand Xiaomi has launched Mi A1 smartphone in India today. It is the global variant of the Mi 5X that was announced in China last month. The main USP of the device is that it will run on the stock Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS and packs dual 12 MP rear camera setup with a telephoto lens.
Pricing and availability: The smartphone comes in three color variants i:e black, Silver and Gold and its price at Rs. 14,999. It will be available from Flipkart, Mi.com online, Mi Home stores and other offline retailers starting September 12th at 12 noon. Airtel users will get 200GB additional 4G data.
Coming to the specifications, the Mi A1 is featured with a metal unibody design and sports a 5.5 inches Full HD display which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC paired with 4GB RAM, 64 ROM, and Adreno 506 GPU. This hybrid dual SIM smartphone runs on stock Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) AndroidOne operating system out of the box which would be further upgradeable to Android Oreo OS by the end of this year. It comes with Mi Camera, Mi Remote and Mi Store apps will be pre-installed.
Coming to the camera specs, The Mi A1 features a 12MP dual rear camera optics which comes with PDAF, 2x optical zoom, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. Whereas up front, there is a 5MP selfie shooter which comes with Full HD video recording.The Xiaomi Mi A1 is fuelled by a 3080mAh Li-ion non-removable battery which comes with fast charging capabilities. The smartphone comes with OTG support, and it measured at 155.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm with weighs around 165g.
The Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth LE 4.2, and USB 2.0. The phone is enriched by the array of sensors like Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
