The company has decided to shelter its ‘online-only’ image and collaborated with the retail chain “The Mobile Store” to sell selected Mi smartphones.

According to The Economic Times report, Xiaomi Mi 4 and Redmi Note 4G will be available through Flipkart and The Mobile Store. The head of India operations at Xiaomi – Manu Jain said, “This will be the first time that we’re getting into offline trade in India. In China, about 20-30% of total sales through come from telecom operator’s stores while the rest comes from our online store – Mi.com.”

According to the reports, The Mobile Store outlets will also work as service centers for the Xiaomi phones. So far, the company had been retailing its device only via its exclusive India partner, Flipkart. However, earlier this month Xiaomi started selling its accessories on its official website, mi.com/in.

With the recent moves, it openly shows that Xiaomi looks ahead to enlarge its lineup in India; it is also seeking to partner with different distribution networks.
