Vivo Y51L 4G smartphone with 2GB RAM, 5″ display launched for Rs. 11,980

With a plan to capture the growing affordable smartphone market in India, Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo has unveiled its new smartphone, Vivo Y51L with OTG and 4G LTE support with a price tag of Rs. 11,890. Y51L is the company’s first smartphone of 2016, which will ve assembled in the Greater Noida manufacturing plant.

Speaking at the launch event, Vivo India CEO – Mr. Alex Feng said that last year the company witnessed a lot of positive demand and huge sales for its budget-range products, and this boosted them to launch Vivo Y51L. They believe that with this new launch, their hold on the market would surely be strengthened.

Equipped with a 5-inch IPS display with screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, Vivo Y51L is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The handset offers 16Gb of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

Talking about the camera, Y51L sports an 8-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. Supporting Full HD video recording at 1080p, the phone boasts of additional features like Face Beauty mode, Panorama, HDR and Night mode.

The smartphone runs on Funtouch 2.5 OS, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. A 2,350mAh Li-polymer battery fuels the smartphone.

Connectivity-wise, the dual-SIM Vivo Y51L comes with 4G LTE support, standard W-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB-OTG, Micro-USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headset jack.

Last year, Vivo introduced its Y series by launching various major models including Y27L, Y31 and Y15S priced from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 13,000. With Y51L, this year Vivo expects to grow its market share reasonably in India.
