TCL 560 4G smartphone with Iris scanner launched at Rs. 7999

TCL Corporation, Hong Kong-based smartphone manufacturer, has launched TCL 560 with the unique eye-biometric retina-verification feature in dark grey and metallic gold variants at Rs. 7,999. This means you will be able to easily unlock the smartphone with the blink of the eye without pressing any button or placing your hands on the fingerprint sensor.

On the specifications front, the TCL 560 features a 5.5-inch HD IPS fully-laminated display (320PPI), Snapdragon 210 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage including support for 4G LTE and VoLTE. While the rear camera offers an 8-megapixel sensor with autofocus and LED flash, the front-facing snapper is equipped with a 5-megapixel flash enabled 84.4-degree sensor.

As with other devices, the speaker grills are located on the rear of the device. Moreover, the TCL 560 comes pre-loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a 2500mAh battery capable of delivering a standby time of up to 500 hours on 3G.

Codenamed as EyeVerify, the built-in Iris scanner enables you to unlock the device by scanning your eyes. The main attraction of the scanner is that it works in any environment.

With over 400+ service centers across India, the 7.99mm thick TCL 560 will be exclusively available on Amazon India. Moreover, the devices come pre-loaded with games like Kingdom & Lords, Puzzle Pets, Spider Man, and Car Racing in addition to useful apps such as Amazon Kindle.

Earlier, the company launched TCL Fit with almost similar specification except the processor at Rs. 8,000. That being said, the newly launched TCL 560 is not the first smartphone to accompany Iris scanner. The recently launched LYF Blade S7, previously Earth 2 also shipped with an Iris scanner.

TCL currently sells smartphones across 170 countries in Partnership with Alcatel. Moreover, a new range of Android-based smartphone devices has been launched under the Alcatel OneTouch brand in India.

Touted as the sixth largest brand in China, the entry of TCL is seen with great expectations since the brand will likely be the possible rival for the established Xiaomi and the 6-month old LeEco.

According to US-based independent market research company IC Insights, TCL was placed at the 10th spot in the top 12 companies who have sold a maximum number of smartphones worldwide in the Q1 2016. Meanwhile, TCL Corporation also manufactures large appliances like television, air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators in addition to mobile phones and small electrical appliances.
