Sony India opens pre-registration for Xperia X and XA Smartphones

Sony India has opened gates for pre-registration for its much awaited Xperia X and XA smartphones from May 20. Aimed to provide fans with the first-hand information about the features of the new devices, the pre-registration kicked off at sharp 12 PM on the official Sony mobile website.

As part of the registration process, you will be required to provide your name and email address. You should also agree to their privacy policy and also activate the messaging feature through which you will receive information from Sony.  You will receive information about availability and pricing as and when the devices are officially launched.

On the specifications front, the Xperia X features a 5-inch Full HD curved TRILUMINOS display, 3GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, Snapdragon 650 Processor loaded with Android Marshmallow. While the main camera offers a 23MP sensor with Pulse LED Flash, the front-facing shooter is powered with a 13MP camera.

The 32GB variant ships in White and Graphite Black color, while the 64GB model comes in Lime Gold and Rose Gold colors. With the capability to expand the internal storage to up to 200GB, the Xperia X comes with 2620mAh battery, which is capable of delivering a backup of up to 2 days. Sony had added significant enhancements to the camera like low-light scene recognition via ISO 6400 for the front-facing shooter.

Xperia XA, meanwhile, ships with the same display size as Xperia X but only offers 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, MediaTek helio P10 processor flowered with Android Marshmallow. The XA series the trimmed down model of the flagship X and hence it only offers 13MP main camera coupled with 8MP front-facing snapper with support for low-light photography.

Unlike Xperia X, the Xperia XA ships with enhanced sound technologies like Clear Audio+, Stereo, Bas, Phase, X-loud including Virtualphones Technology and dynamic normalizer. However, the X variant includes low capacity 2300mAh battery, which is dubbed to provide a backup of 2 days.

Since USB Type C is becoming a common addition for all premium smartphones, both Xperia X and XA ships with fast charging technology. Furthermore, Sony also bundles flip cover and couple of style covers along with both devices.

If you pre-register now, you will receive notifications as and when the device is ready for public consumption. You will be able to know from where you can buy the device including the details of offers if any.

As of writing this, we don’t have any information about the pricing of new devices but we expect to be that of high side considering the nature of previous Sony devices.
