Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge image leak shows bezel-less phone coming at MWC 2017

Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge is expected to launch during the upcoming MWC 2017. We had been reporting news about the rumored handset over the last few months. The latest development is that a new render of Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge has been leaked on Slashleaks via Weibo and it reveals a bezel-less display.

There are rumors that Samsung will delay the launch of Galaxy S8 due to severe shortage of components. However, tech enthusiasts are eagerly watching the developments surrounding the new handset after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. With Samsung expected to release the investigation report about what caused the ultimate death of the Note 7, it remains to be seen as to what approach the company takes about Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S8 leaked image reveals bezel-less display

After the release of Samsung Galaxy S7 in 2016, there were widespread speculations about the alleged Galaxy S8 smartphone. The recently leaked picture on Weibo showcases a bezel-less display with shiny top and bottom finish. As you can clearly see, the four corners are curved.

Moreover, the battery has been charged to 100 percent with Airplane mode activated. The settings are in the Chinese language with Google appearing on the bottom. We can also spot the traditional Samsung logo below the leaked handset with an absence of a physical home button. On the top portion, you can spot a front-facing snapper with sensors.

Although the leaked render contains suspicious features, the image looks convincing. The point to note is that in the past there were leaks of Galaxy S8 with the same look and feel of the currently available Galaxy S7 Edge. We suspect that photoshopping of the image of Galaxy S7 in such a way that it looks different.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specifications

Talking about the specifications, Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display, Snapdragon 830/Exynos 8895 processor, 8GB RAM, up to 128GB internal storage, 12MP dual camera, 8MP front-facing snapper loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone will provide support for fast charging technology with ANT+ support. As per an unofficial listing on GSMArena, the Galaxy S8 will be equipped with Black, White, Gold, Silver, Pink Gold color variants.

Meanwhile, Samsung hasn’t promised a major design refresh in 2017. Hence, you need not have to expect anything new. As a surprise, you can expect Samsung to integrate Iris scanner, the technology borrowed from the discontinued Galaxy Note 7.

If the above image turns out to be true, you can expect the elimination of a physical home button along with the integration of an ultrasonic finger reader embedded in the display. The capacitive on-screen navigation keys are missing, and this raises serious questions about the usability of the smartphone.

You should accept the above facts only with a pinch of salt since there is no official confirmation about the specifications. We expect more details to emerge within the next couple of weeks. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned with PC Tablet.
