Reliance LYF Wind 2 phablet with 2GB RAM launched at Rs. 8299

Reliance Retail’s LYF has just launched another new device in India. This comes just after a week the company released the LYF Water 8 smartphone. The brand new LYF Wind 2 is a budget range phablet. The phone is priced at Rs. 8,299 and is now in stock in official Reliance outlets and smartphone retailers around the country.

Reliance LYF Wind 2 Specs

The LYF Wind 2 features a premium metallic chassis complete with a rounded glass finish. The phablet sports a large 6-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution. The IPS capacitive touchscreen supports up to five touch points simultaneously.

A 64-bit quad-core MediaTek 6735M sits inside the LYF Wind 2. The SoC has four ARM Cortex A53 cores running at 1 GHz each. The graphics performance is handled by the single core Mali T720 MP1 GPU clocked at 600 MHz.

The brand new phablet comes with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM along with an internal storage capacity of 16 GB. The smartphone supports microSD card up to 32 GB. Running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the LYF Wind 2 does not come with up to date operating system.

An 8MP rear camera with a LED flash sits at the back of the device. The Auto Focus camera has a number of features like Multi-Angle View and Auto Scene Detection. The phone comes with a 2MP front-facing camera with Facial Recognition and Smile Detection. Full HD 1080p video recording is not supported by this latest smartphone and it can only capture 720p videos at 30 fps.

The phone has a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2850mAh. The company claims that the phone can play HD videos for up to 6 hours when fully charged. A standby time of 190 hours is also promised. The battery is non-removable.

The LYF Wind 2 comes with two SIM card slots with the second one also functioning as the microSD card slot. The 4G is supported through both the SIM slots, but they don’t support 4G simultaneously. The handset supports Cat 4 LTE and VoLTE (High Definition Voice Calls). The smartphone has a dimension of 157.5mm x 81mm x 8.5mm and weighs about 223 grams.

All general connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth version 4.1, GPS, etc. are present in the handset. The LYF Wind 2 comes with a MicroUSB 2.0 port for charging and transferring data. The port also supports USB OTG, which means you this phone can support pen drives through adapters.
