Earlier, Oppo disclosed that its selfie-focused smartphone Oppo F1s is coming on August 3 in India. The company revealed its launch date through a tweet a while back. Now the company has started sending out media invites for the same.
The company though has held back on revealing the other aspects of the upcoming smartphone, except that it will have an even better photographic capability. The F1 was launched in January this year and was projected to be among the best photography oriented handsets in the mid-range segment.
To recap things here, the F1 featured an 8MP front facing cam while a larger 13MP unit served as the primary cam at the rear. The device also proved its mettle in its ability to click images of reasonable quality.
The Chinese manufacturer also claimed the F1 has been quite successful in the markets it operates in. Those include India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia among others. It is hoping to replicate the success story with the even more capable F1s, which it said has been enhanced for even better performance and imaging capabilities.
To serve as a refresher, the Oppo F1 came with an octa-core Snapdragon 616 chip mated to a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM. The handset also comes with a 5-inch 720p display and features a sleek all-aluminum design.
The F1 runs ColorOS 2.1 which happens to be a customized version of Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device also came with several pre-installed apps such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live colour filters and so on further appeal to the shutterbugs out there.
Specific details might be missing at the moment though it’s likely the F1s will run an OS based on the latest Android Marshmallow. Also, apart from better processor and maybe an even bigger RAM, there could be a similar increment for the camera hardware as well. For instance, a front and rear 13MP cam supported by suitable software shouldn’t be too big an expectation though we’ve got to wait for the formal announcement here.
