OnePlus 3 starts getting OxygenOS 3.2.1 update, improves RAM management and more

Deviating from the normal course of action, OnePlus has stalled its Oxygen OS 3.2 update and gone ahead with the new Oxygen 3.2.1 update. The new update brings the much-anticipated sRGB mode and improved RAM management among other enhancements.

A while back, OnePlus temporarily paused the rollout of OxygenOS 3.2.0 software update for the OnePlus 3, due to some upgrading issues encountered by users. The company began rolling out the OxygenOS 3.2.0 over the air update for the OnePlus 3 with the target to complete the rollout within 48 hours.

On top of the usual bug fixes and performance optimizations, the update notably resolved a significant issue of poor RAM allocation that essentially restricted users from fully utilizing the 6GB of RAM of the OnePlus 3. The update also unlocks the ability to enable the sRGB display mode, improves the GPS performance, enhances audio playback quality, improves camera quality/functionality and comes with the latest android security patches implemented.

OnePlus just mentioned that users have encountered problems while updating their OnePlus 3 smartphones to the latest OxygenOS 3.2.0, not disclosing the details regarding the extent and severity of the issues. Until this investigation is concluded, Oxygen Os 3.2 isn’t headed to OnePlus 3 devices in the wild anymore. OnePlus says the rollout will commence again as soon as possible, but it’s unclear exactly how long it will take for it to go out once more. Also not sure is how many OnePlus 3 units already got the new release, since the OTA rollout was supposed to conclude within 48 hours of starting.

The company says that it will restart rolling out the update as soon as possible, although it is not clear precisely when it will begin pushing the update once more. There is also no data regarding the number of devices already updated as the update process was to be completed within 48 hours. All we know that OxygenOS 3.2.0 is not heading to any OnePlus 3 device until OnePlus finishes analyzing and solving the issues.
