OnePlus has been one Chinese company, which tasted early success for a startup since its launch of the OnePlus One. This was due to its aggressive pricing and brilliant marketing strategies like using the social networks for product promotions.
So, there was a Hype about the OnePlus 2, and it was teased to be a Flagship Killer by the company. Let alone being this year’s flagship the phone was not capable of being a 2015 Flagship Killer; it was a good handset none the less.
The handset was well-built with a premium in-hand feel. The frame is made up of magnesium-aluminium alloy and the rear sports the famous course Sandstone black finish which was first seen on the OnePlus One. It also sported the alert slider for controlling notifications, the USB Type-C and a Fingerprint sensor flanked by two backlit soft keys.
The OnePlus 2 sports a 5.5-inch display with a Full-HD resolution (1080×1920 pixel); and for the internals, it is powered by 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with a 3,300mAh battery. As on the connectivity front, there is support for dual 4G Nano-SIM cards (dual-SIM dual standby), but it lacks NFC. The OnePlus 2 has a 13-megapixel rear shooter and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The phone runs OxygenOS, the company’s custom OS built on top of on Android 5.1 Lollipop though it looks a lot similar to Stock Android. Some striking features of OxygenOS include option for on-screen navigation keys or off-screen gestures, change the LED indicator’s colour as per the user’s choice, a Dark UI mode, and a feature called ‘Shelf’.
Luckily, now the OnePlus 2 is available without an invite. With the price reduction, it’s a good choice. So, will any of you pick-up a OnePlus 2 after this price-cut? Drop in your views in the comment section.
