Micromax Informatics today announced the launch of its new handset, Canvas Fire 5 in India, designed for the music lovers. The phone comes with front speakers and Auro 3D sound, and also six months free access to Gaana streaming services that allow users to download unlimited songs.
The digital music consumption is estimated to reach 273 million users by 2020. Taking note of the ongoing trend, Micromax is striving to ensure that their Fire series offers a premium experience in terms of Music and other entertainment related content.
Shubhajit Sen, Chief Marketing Officer of Micromax Informatics, commented about the digital music consumption in India, saying, “In India, with the fast growing internet penetration and access to affordable big screen smartphones, digital music consumption is witnessing a steep rise. About 80 percent of the users watch videos on their mobile devices at least once every 2-3 days, with more than half opting to watch them daily.”
Coming on to the specifications, the Canvas Fire 5 has a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS screen and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor MediaTek SoC bundled with 1GB RAM. It is a dual sim phone with an expandable memory up to 64GB. The internal storage capacity stands at 16GB.
To support long music hours, the phone is equipped with a 2,500mAh battery. In addition, Canvas Fire 5 sports an 8MP rear shooter with a 5-megapixel front cam and runs on Android Marshmallow. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and Micro-USB. Available in Silver, Grey and Champagne, the device is available in Micromax’s offline stores at a price of Rs. 6,199.
A while back, the India-born company launched the Canvas Amaze 2 with octa-core processor and 2GB RAM at Rs. 7,499.
