The German based luxury car maker is all set to launch Mercedes Benz GLS SUV in the Indian car market. The new GLS SUV is a successor of GL- Class.

The seven-seater SUV gets updated exterior and luxurious cabin and interior. The SUV will compete with Volvo XC-90 and the latest Audi Q7.

The majority changes of the new SUV is given to the exterior profile, the upfront is a muscular bonnet and has a double silver slats grill which accommodates the company logo in the centre.

The headlights have been redesigned and feature Mercedes- Benz signature Multi – Beam Lamps with daytime running LEDs. On sides, the SUV look similar to GL -Class. Whereas the rear ends get new LED Tail- lamps and new bumpers.

In terms of engine Mercedes-Benz GLS comes in 4 different variants. Which include 255bhp GLS350d, 362bhp GLS450 and 449bhp GLS550 power engines.

All the three engine comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The top variant of the SUV comes with GLS 63 and can churn out a maximum of 577bhp.

Mercedes- Benz GLS has the safety feature as an exceptional offer, the safety features include crosswind assistance, collision assistance, attention assistance, pre-safe, brake assistance, and traction system with 4ETS.

The interior of the car is eye catching, the rich Nappa leather upholstery and the well-equipped dashboard is quite in line. And supports company’s claim for the Benz GLS being the S- class of suv.

The SUV will be priced in the range of Rs 85 lakh to 1.5 crores. The car is likely to go on sale today itself as the production of the GLS has already begun at the company’s Chakan plant, and will be available in six colors. The new Mercedes can sprint 0-100 kmph in 7.8 seconds.
