Maruti Suzuki has decided to sell Vitara Brezza abroad to exhibit its technological capabilities there. Being the first compact SUV to be conceived, designed as well as validated in India by Maruti, it would be unveiled at Auto Expo starting 3rd of February in Greater Noida.
CV Raman, the Executive Director For Engineering, stated that Vitara Brezza was given to the Indian R&D team as a challenge, and it would be the first Indian model of Maruti Suzuki to be exported abroad.
He further added that the SUV was engineered mainly for global markets, and will be exported to South Asian markets. The car was in development since 3.5 years and has been developed on the new SMC platform.
He also added that this is the first time that all judgments and decisions were taken in-house at Maruti while Suzuki didn’t participate. This would definitely help the team in introducing products as well as upgrades at a faster pace in Indian market.
