List of Smartphones to get Android Nougat 7.0 Update

Google announced the new Android Nougat or Android N at its I/O developer conference back in March 2016. The update brings a vast array of improvements and features – and is essentially aimed at offering a more refined, seamless Android experience. Nexus and Android One

The Nexus range is usually the first ones to get any Android software upgrade. Google recently released the factory images and OTA update files for the Nexus 6 with Android Nougat 7.1.1, which will allow users to get upgraded to the latest Android Nougat build. Samsung

Samsung usually has reputation of lagging behind when it comes to rolling out timely updates, as its primary focus are its flagship devices which usually get the first dibs at getting the latest upgrades. The company has also announced a beta program for the Android Nougat update so that users can sign-up and get early access builds of Android Nougat before the final roll out.

HTC

When it comes to updates, HTC has a much better track-record compared to its Korean counterpart. While in December last year, the company also broke the news that the unlocked HTC One M9 will start receiving the Android Nougat 7.0 update.

OnePlus

LG

Apart from the newly launched Pixel range, the LG V20 is one of the few smartphones to run Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. While last year’s flagship the LG G5 has also been upgraded to Android Nougat 7.0.

Huawei

Huawei is fast becoming a serious player in the smartphone business. The company has already confirmed that the Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8 will start receiving the update in December, while the full global rollout is expected by the first quarter of 2017. In addition, the company also confirmed that the Honor 8 will get updated to Android Nougat 7.0 with the new EMUI 5.0 in February. Here’s a list of Huawei handsets expected to get the Android N:

Others

Even the Asus Zenfone 3 has reportedly started receiving the Android Nougat update in the Philippines. While BlackBerry hasn’t officially announced its  Android Nougat plans for BlackBerry Priv or Dtek 50, but the company did say it’ll focus on improved security with its next update.
