Lenovo Vibe K5 Note with metal build coming on July 20, Confirmed!

Lenovo Group is preparing to launch the latest Vibe K5 Note in India on July 20. The company has started teasing about the imminent launch on Twitter.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is the successor to the company’s Vibe K4 Note, which was launched in India at the beginning of this year. Facing stiff competition from Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 1s, the K4 Note could not succeed as much as its predecessor, the Lenovo K3 Note.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note will feature a metallic build, unlike its plastic-made successors. It sports a 5.5-inch 1080P Full HD LTPS IPS LCD. The Mediatek Helio P10 processor with eight Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.8 GHz each combined with a dual core Mali-T860MP2 GPU powers the device.

There are two variants of the smartphone having 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM coupled with an internal storage of 16 GB. The storage capacity can be increased by up to 256 GB by adding a microSD card.

The rear camera of the phone is a 13 MP unit with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) having a f/2.2 aperture size and a dual-tone double LED flash. The K5 Note comes with an 8 MP front camera. The device can record Full HD 1080P videos at 30 frames per second.

A fingerprint reader is placed at the back of the handset. A 3500 mAH Lithium Polymer battery provides juice to the device. The latest smartphone from Lenovo is also equipped with Dolby Atmos audio technology for high-quality audio playback.

The K5 Note comes with an array of connectivity options. It has dual band supported WiFi – 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.1 (LE), 4G LTE with dual SIM, dual standby facility.

The device runs on the older Android Lollipop 5.1 although there is a possibility of Lenovo launching the phone with updated Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 in India.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is expected to be priced at Rs. 11,000 in India, with the options of choosing between Gold and Silver colour.
