The Lenovo ZUK Edge was all set to be made to be made official on December 7, but Lenovo delayed it until December 20. The company has now lived up to that promise as the smartphone gets officially announced at an event in China.
Key specifications on the ZUK Edge include 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, the smartphone gets powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor bundled with Adreno 530 GPU, and either 4GB/6GB of RAM. The ZUK Edge runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with ZUI 2.5 on top.
As far as cameras go, the handset packs a 13MP primary camera with LED flash and PDAF. On the front, there’s an 8MP camera for taking selfies. Other key feature on the ZUK Edge is a U-Touch fingerprint scanner housed right below the display which is claimed to unlock the device in 0.09 seconds.
Also, there’a heart rate sensor housed below the LED flash. Besides, the smartphone gets enhanced audio capabilities such as Dirac HD Sound for improved Hi-Fi audio, along with a 3.5mm jack.
Juicing up the Zuk Edge is a 3100mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. In terns of connectivity,the smartphone gets 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, along with USB-Type C. The smartphone comes in Ceramic White and Titanium Black color options.
In terms of pricing, the 4G RAM variant is priced at $339 (2299 CNY), while the 6GB RAM variant gets a price tag of $360 (2499 CNY). In addition, there’s also a special edition ZUK Edge L version, which gets endorsed Korean superstar Lee Min Ho. The smartphone is now available for pre-order in China and goes on sale starting January 1.
