Google has officially unveiled its latest Pixel range of handsets, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, at an event in New York. In addition, the company also announced the Pixel slate tablet and Google Home smart speaker which now comes with a display.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will launch in 12 countries including India starting November 1. Both models will be offered in a choice of 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The smaller Pixel 3 gets a starting price tag of INR 71,000 for the 64GB model, while its top-end variant with 128GB of storage is priced at INR 83,000.

The Pixel 3 XL, on the other hand, gets a starting price tag of INR 83,000 for the 64GB variant, while the Top-end variant with 128GB of storage is priced at INR 92,000. Both Pixel 3 models will be open for pre-bookings in India starting October 11 via both online and offline channels. For now, Google has listed Reliance Digital, Flipkart, Croma, Bajaj Electronics, Vijay Sales, and Poorvika as its official retail partners. The new Pixel 3 range will be available in Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink colour variants.

Pixel 3 Specifications

The Pixel 3 features a 5.5-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) flexible OLED display having an aspect ratio of 18:9. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and features Always-on Display technology. Under the hood, the handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with Adreno 630 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

The single-SIM (Nano) Google Pixel 3 runs Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. Google has also promised that the handset offers eSIM support in select markets. The device gets fuelled by a 2,915mAh battery that is claimed to offer up to 7 hours of battery life with 15 minutes of charge. It comes with a USB Type-C 18W power adapter, fast charging support, and Qi wireless charging support.

In the photography department, the Google Pixel 3 is equipped with a 12.2MP dual-pixel primary camera with 1.4-micron pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, and a 76-degree field-of-view. It offers features such as autofocus with dual pixel phase detection, optical and electronic image stabilisation, spectral and flicker sensor, and more. It is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps.

For selfies, the handset is equipped with a dual camera setup. It features an 8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 97-degree field of view, fixed focus, along with an 8MP standard lens with f/1.8 aperture, 75-degree field-of-view, and autofocus with phase detection. The front camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

The Google Pixel 3 is offered in a choice 64GB and 128GB built-in storage options. Google has also promised unlimited online storage for photos and videos until January 31, 2022.

It also comes with an Active Edge sensor and a rear-mounted Pixel Imprint fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking.

Connectivity features on the Google Pixel 3 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth v5.0 + LE, USB Type-C port, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and Google Cast. The handset is devoid of a 3.5mm jack, but it comes with a 3.5mm to USB Type-C adaptor as well as Pixel USB Type-C earbuds.

The Google Pixel 3 XL runs Android 9.0 Pie and comes with a single SIM NANO slot. The company is also touting the presence of eSIM support in select markets.

Talking about the camera, the Google Pixel 3 XL is equipped with same camera setup as its smaller sibling, the Pixel 3. It is also offered in a choice of 64GB and 128GB built-in storage options. Google has also promised the same unlimited online storage for photos and videos until January 31, 2022.

The Google Pixel 3 XL is fuelled by a 3,430mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 7 hours of life with 15 minutes of charge. It also comes with a USB Type-C 18W power adapter, 18W fast charging support, and Qi wireless charging support. However, fast wireless charging on both Pixel 3 handsets is available with the Pixel Stand. The Pixel 3 XL has no 3.5mm headphone jack just like Pixel 3, but comes with a 3.5mm to USB Type-C adaptor along with Pixel USB Type-C earbuds.
