BlackBerry PRIV now up for pre-order at US, UK and Canada, starts at $699

BlackBerry PRIV

Powered by Android, the BlackBerry PRIV finally made a short appearance at the official store of Blackberry. The listing has been taken down at the moment, but they surely hinted that the smartphone will start shipping starting November 16 in the USA. The handset is now available for pre-order in the United States, UK and Canada for $699 non-contract price.

The specification that were revealed surely filled us with hope. The Blackberry PRIV features a 5.4-inch dual-curved display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1140 pixels at 540 DPI. Powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC and paired with 3GB of RAM, the handset comes with a 3,410 mAh battery, which company claims to deliver 22.5 hours of power juice.

On the camera front, the smartphone sports Schneider-Kreuznachan 18MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The rear camera is also capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps.

BlackBerry PRIV also introduces the exclusive DTEK by BlackBerry warning system application to provide additional privacy.

The main thing that bothers us when it comes to the overall success of this device is its price point. It is too high, and the performance is the only thing that could save it from being crushed by the competition.

The BlackBerry PRIV will cost around $699 in the US and will begin shipping on November 6.
