After rolling out the Android 6.0.1 for the Snapdragon variant of Galaxy S5, Samsung has started releasing the latest Android Marshmallow update for the Exynos variant of the phone. Indian users of the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Exynos variant) can now taste the Marshmallow, which is coming to the smartphones through an OTA update.
Since the company has started rolling out the update now, it may take some time for the update notification to appear on your Galaxy S5 smartphone. If you have received the update and are planning to install it, make sure that you have a stable internet connection and a fully charged battery. And those who haven’t received it yet can check if it is available for their device by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update brings minimalistic design and offers better performance and security. It comes integrated with Google Now on Tap. Long press the home button and the Google Now on Tap will activate instantly. Along with that, it introduces a new Voice API to Android, a dedicated Google Settings app, battery manager Doze, among many other features.
Nexus devices have been the first to receive the Android Marshmallow update.
