OnePlus has revealed its latest smartphone in India – the OnePlus 6 – on Thursday during an event in Mumbai. In addition, the company also showed-off the much-anticipated Marvel Avengers Limited edition variant of handset.

The company’s mantra has been to offer high-end specifications and top-notch performance at a much lower price compared to flagships from Samsung, LG, HTC, and Apple. And it appears the same formula has been applied for the latest OnePlus 6, but the company has been raising the prices after every new release over the past few years.

OnePlus 6 price starts at Rs. 34,999 in India for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant, while its top-end model with 8GB RAM/128GB storage gets a price tag of Rs. 39,999. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition price in India has been priced at Rs. 44,999.

The handset will be available on Amazon India for Prime Members starting May 21 in an early access sale, while it goes in open sale on May 22. Besides, it will also be available via the official OnePlus store in India. However, The Marvel Avengers Limited Edition of the handset will become available in open sale from Amazon on May 29.

The OnePlus 6 is equipped with the latest hardware and gets some noticeable design changes. Key changes include the iPhone X-like display notch, along with an all-glass body with five layers of nanotech coating. The smartphone will be offered in three colour variants. These include Midnight Black, Mirror Black, and Silk White Limited Edition.

In terms of specs, the OnePlus 6 flaunts a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED display having a 19:9 aspect ratio along with a 84 percent screen-to-body ratio, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it gets powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor bundled with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and an Adreno 630 GPU.

In the photography department, there’s a dual-lens primary camera setup (16MP+20MP) on the OnePlus 6 like its predecessor the OnePlus 5T with support for HDR and Portrait Mode. OnePlus also showed-off the handset’s Slow-Motion video recording feature, capable of capturing 480 fps at 720p resolution.

For selfies, the OnePlus 6 comes with a 16MP front-facing shooter which now offers Portrait Mode as well. The handset also gets a Face Unlock feature which the company claims can unlock the device in just 0.4 seconds.

The OnePlus 6 is powered by a 3300mAh battery with the company’s Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging technology. The handset also offers water resistance against accidental splashes and rain. That said, the company did not mention an IP certified rating for the OnePlus 6.

Coming to the OS, The OnePlus 6 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS 5.1. Connectivity options include dual-SIM (nano) slots, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0 with aptX and aptX HD support, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C (v2.0). Not to mention, the handset retains the classic 3.5mm headphone jack.
