Five reasons why OnePlus 3 is still my daily driver and yours should too!

OnePlus introduced itself into the market with the inexplicable approaches, which later became the banner of their success story. OnePlus 3 is the company’s flagship phone for the year 2016, which is a phenomenal phone in itself. It hits the sweet spot between somewhere high-end and budget smartphones. I am not saying it’s a budget smartphone at Rs. 27,999 but it won’t burn a hole in your pocket either if you compare the specs and performance with other mid-range or budget smartphone options.

There is not a single word of good and bad things that I have not already said in my review of OnePlus 3. It has been more than a month ever since I published my video review and text review, and I am still using OnePlus 3 as my daily driver after considering few power-packed phones. Surprisingly, with each passing day, my desire for keeping this as my primary phone grows stronger, and I feel that I still have a lot to talk about it. To know what keeps me going with this smartphone, allow me to walk you through with my experience:

Impressive Dash Charge Technology

The first thing which blows my mind every morning is its dash charge technology. Battery life is considered as the most crucial part of modern smartphones and a person like me who love to read stuff late night on smartphone always finds drained battery every morning, when I am already in a rush to leave for office. My poor OnePlus 3 hardly gets 30-35 minutes of charge that keeps it going entire day. Believe me! I have to do social media, chatting, answering emails and of course calling all day and OnePlus 3 never lets me down or makes me beg for power bank before I reach back to my place.

Unique Curved Metal Unibody Design

Second most distinctively eye-catching feature that gets your attention as soon as you lay eyes on the device is its design. The design is a pure marvel and certainly doesn’t appear to be a blatant rip-off of any smartphone. Nearing as perfect as they get, it looks not only great but also with metallic build it feels premium. OnePlus 3 is pretty sleek device and quite light weight as well at just 158g and that you can feel while holding it. With one of the thinnest bezels that I have seen, the flat screen is almost seamlessly integrated with a unibody base. I do carry this with case (Official Accessory) which is so thin that you won’t even realize it is there. Being a 5.5-inch display phone, it feels so easy to hold it in hands.

Top-Notch Performer Packing Qualcomm Snapdragon 820

Performance is nothing worrisome about OnePlus 3. The spec-packed phone gives a good value for money with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core CPU coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It handles my day-to-day usage, multitasking very well (which I seriously do a lot). I can hardly recall any moment when I faced any lag or it got freeze. With 6GB RAM, I didn’t have to worry about RAM management. Gaming was consistent; no lags no stutter either.

Great Camera Quality

I do travel a lot, and a decent smartphone camera that can capture magnificent landscapes and beautiful selfies while I am on the go is always my priority. I am providing few sample shots which I captured during my recent trips.

It features a 16MP rear and an 8MP front shooter. The camera is one department where OnePlus 3 has put some efforts. Images appear sharp, color reproduction is accurate, and exposure is spot on. This is a Sony IMX298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and has optical image stabilization along with electronic image stabilization. And thanks to that we get few good macro shots with defocused background.

The camera continues to do a good job in low light condition as well. Yes, there is noise creeping in, but images are still great to use with a fair amount of details. It’s a good performer when it comes to the camera, and improved a lot on its predecessors. It is definitely not the best of the lot but still great at this price point.

Android 6.0.1 with OxygenOS

Next thing which I am going to talk about is the preference of many people before they decide to make a purchase of a smartphone. Android phone aficionados prefer an unadulterated version of the OS also known as stock Android. With OnePlus 3, you Android 6.0.1 with OxygenOS 3.1.2, which is excellent for those who don’t mind nearly stock Android experience with few customizations. No useless apps dumped here that makes it faster for a fluid experience. However, you still get to customize LED notifications, navigation buttons, enable dark mode and few gestures are also supported. I loved its cleaner user interface which many of you may prefer over those customized skins.

Quick Front Fingerprint Sensor

Front fingerprint placement isn’t a regression either regarding comfort in opening the phone without even picking up. Settings allow you to register up to five fingerprints whereby you can add thumb or finger’s impression according to your convenience. So even if I am sleeping and want to read the notification, I just need to place my finger on scanner without picking it up and the response is blazing fast.

OnePlus 3 is simply a legit smartphone and its improvements over predecessor are remarkable. It will be very hard to find a reason to not to recommend OnePlus 3; it is a true worthy daily driver. The phone is available for Rs. 27,999 in two color variants on Amazon.in and also on their recently launch official online store for India.
