Bharti Airtel 4G services rolls out in Kharagpur, West Bengal

Kharagpur is the second city in West Bengal to get 4G services. Airtel 4G is being rolled in the industrial town. Airtel 4G is offering the 4G services using the dual spectrum bands of 2300 MHz or TD-LTE and 1800 MHz for FD-LTE. The band will provide a better and superior broadband experience. The launch of high-speed Internet in Kharagpur is a part of the Project Leap which envisages the transformation of the Airtel National network. Kharagpur is the second city after Kolkatta to get high-speed 4G LTE services. The Airtel 4G services enable the users to enjoy constant HD video streaming coupled with quick uploading and downloading of data including movies and images. The 4G services from the service provider are available across a wide range of devices including smartphones, 4G hotspots, and dongles. Consumers have a wide choice of tariff packages to choose from according to their convenience.

The 4G services in the city will be riding on the bands of 2300 MHz (TD-LTE) and 1800 MHz (FD-LTE). The combination of TD-LTE and FD-LTE gives superior customer experience. Kharagpur is one of the few cities in the country which has the integrated dual band for 4G network. The coming ten weeks will see more and more cities coming under the 4G network across the state, and this includes more than 30 big and medium towns.

Ravindra Singh Negi, CEO for Bharti Airtel for West Bengal & Odisha region said that customer could rest assured about getting the best smartphone experience and data at lightning speed. He further asked all the net savvy consumers to upgrade to 4G services and become part of an emerging but elite group of netizens.

Airtel had led the 4G episode in India when it launched the 4G services on Kolkatta, which became the first city in the nation to have 4G services within its boundaries in April 2012. Existing Airtel subscribers can walk into the nearest Airtel outlet and switch to a 4G SIM, or they can get more information from www.airtel.in/4g for more details.

Airtel started its Project Leap in November 2015 – a massive transformation program with an investment of Rs. 60,000 crores over the period of next three years. It has been dubbed as a giant leap for improving network quality and customer satisfaction.
