Airtel India woos customers with new initiative to pay only for what they use

New Delhi — Airtel India has introduced a new initiative that enables its customers to pay only for what they use. In an effort of boosting company’s “Customer First” commitment, Airtel customers will now pay only for the period they are connected to Airtel network.

Bharti Airtel’s Ajai Puri, who serves as Director of Market Operations across India and South Asia, recalled customers’ importance to the company.

The move comes in the midst of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) analyzing whether there are any tariff plans by the telecom operator, wherein call drops usually result in benefitting certain telecom service providers.

Puri further talked about the company’s strategy of building up “Customer First” commitments, which resulted in this initiative.

“We continue to invest aggressively in our network quality and deploy new sites to further enhance our robust & wide network presence,” he added.

Airtel has apparently kept on expanding its reach towards customers in India, in terms of its service areas — such as 2G, 3G, 4G, etc. However, the company is now expecting a huge leap with respect to this new offering in the Indian telecom sector.

“While standard base rate plans will be shifted to a pulse rate of per second, customers can opt for additional tariff packs of their choice for availing discounted benefits,” Airtel said.
