Much like Samsung, even Huawei launches flagships smartphones every year. The Chinese manufacturer has already launched one of them in the form of the Huawei P10 back at MWC 2017. Next in line is the Huawei Mate 10, rumors about which are coming thick and fast. Here’s is everything we know about the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 based on the latest leaks and reports.
Huawei Mate 10 Release Date and Specs
According to a post on Weibo, which cites an industry insider suggests the successor to Mate 9 is likely to launch this fall. Now, this falls in line with Huawei’s annual launch cycle. The company has already launched its P-series flagship back in February, and next up is the Huawei Mate 10 which is likely to release after Apple launches the upcoming iPhone 8.
Elsewhere, reports also claim that the Mate 10 will feature a bezel-free display. A technology that is fast becoming a trend these days and it only makes sense that Huawei uses this tech to get an edge over competitors. Sources also suggest that Huawei is working day in and day out to make the device stick out of the competition.
The Huawei Mate 10 is said to pack a 6-inch display with a higher screen to body ratio than the Galaxy S8, which is already at a whopping 83 percent.
Besides, a few sources also indicate that the fingerprint sensor will be housed below the display, which makes it much easier to access compared to a rear fingerprint scanner. This also means that the Home Button on the Huawei Mate 10 will also double up as a fingerprint scanner.
Not to forget, the device is also said to pack dual-lens cameras on both its front as well on the back, which makes it four camera lenses in total.
Under the hood, the smartphone is likely to feature Huawei’s in-house Kirin 970 SoC based on the latest 10nm manufacturing process. In terms of OS, the device is expected to run the upcoming Android 8.0 out-of-the-box.
As far as pricing goes, it’s anyone’s guess at the moment. Though given the fact that Huawei’s Mate 9 was priced much higher than the Mate 8, we expect Huawei will it’ll be priced on the lines of the Mate 9. At launch, the Huawei Mate 9 was priced at $599.99. Hence, we’d expect the Huawei Mate 10 to get a similar price point when it launches this year.
