OnePlus has publically announced that they will be making their Loop VR headsets available for free on June 14 from 3PM onwards. These VR Loop headsets shall be delivered to the aspirants’ doorstep by Uber cabs.
The new partnership between the global smartphone startup, OnePlus and one of the World’s largest online transportation companies Uber, will facilitate a more widespread delivery for the free Loop VR headsets around select locations.
The free VR headsets can be availed in eight cities around India, namely Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Pune.
OnePlus’s General Manager for India, Vikas Agarwal, made a statement saying that their fan community is very important to them and because the company was asked for more Loop VR headsets to watch the unveiling of the OnePlus 3, the company has decided to give their fans one more opportunity to get their hands on the free headsets.
How to get free Loop VR headset
To get your free Loop VR headset, simply pull up the ‘Uber’ application on your phone. Head to the ‘promotions’ tab under the main menu and enter the code ‘ONEPLUS3VR’. Once it says your code has been accepted, wait until 3PM on June 14 and look out for the ‘Uber VR’ icon on the main screen of the app. Hit it and your free VR headset will be delivered to your address once your request is processed.
OnePlus announced earlier this month that it would be putting up 30,000 VR headsets for sale at Re. 1 on Amazon for users to purchase on a promotional basis, so as being able to watch the VR livestream of the OnePlus 3’s release.
The OnePlus 3 will officially be unveiled at an event in China today, on June 14 beginning with the VR event at 10PM IST. The phone is expected to go on sale beginning June 15 at 12:30AM IST, immediately after the unveiling.
