Meizu Pro 6 is expected to be powered by the unannounced Samsung Exynos 8870 system-on-chip (SoC) processor. There are widespread rumours that Meizu will be the first handset manufacturer to make use of Exynos 8870 processor in its upcoming smartphone.
Exynos 8870 will be a less powerful offering from Samsung when compared to Exynos 8 Octa 8890 which was announced in 2015.
The Exynos 8890 processor that entered the bulk manufacturing process in October 2015 utilizes 14nm FinFET fabrication process in addition to 64-bit ARMv8 architecture.
Exynos 8870 is expected to provide cooler performance and will provide up to 30% improvement in performance in addition to 10% power efficiency compared to previous generations.
Exynos 8870 will include an LTE Rel.12 Cat.12/13 modem that provides a capability to download at a speed of up to 600Mbps. Moreover, there will be improved upload speeds with up to 150Mbps.
The upcoming Meizu Pro 6 is expected to have a 6 inch Full HD display although there is no official confirmation. Moreover, you can also expect the release of a mini version of Pro 6 with a 5-inch display around the second quarter of 2016.
Meizu PRO 5, which was launched in October 2015, featured the Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core processor with a 5.7 inch Full HD display.
The previous Exynos chipsets worked very well on single and multi-core performances, GeekBench and AnTuTu benchmarks.
