Accosta Uno speaker & Karaoke Mic review

In a sea of Bluetooth speakers available in the market, Acoosta has come up with a very compelling product. In our on-going series on audio products, we bring yet another product called the Acoosta Uno. The Uno comes with 14,000 pre-stored songs from more than 50+ genres, apart from that you also get all the standard features found on a Bluetooth speaker. The Uno comes with support for Karaoke by attaching a microphone as well.

Design

The design of the Uno is modern and the company has used premium materials in its construction. The Uno has a trapezium inspired shape and the outer frame is carved out of high-quality plastic. There are two speaker units on the front with each of them placed on the sides. The speakers are covered with an Aluminum mesh which complements the look. In-between the two speakers, there is a color LCD display which displays the modes and other important info. There is an LED strip on the bottom which lights up as soon as the speaker is powered on.

Flipping the speaker reveals the IO ports along with the two smaller tweeter units placed on the bottom for surround sound experience. On the top, you get a host of buttons ranging from Power button, Mic Volume button, play/pause, and a rotatory dial to interact with the menu. There are rubber nubs on the bottom for additional grip.

The Accosta Karaoke mic isn’t bundled with the speaker unit and can be purchased separately. The mic has a decent build quality with a single on/off slider switch and a metal mesh on top.

Connectivity

By default, the speaker boots into the Music mode where you get access to the 14,000+ pre-added songs covering over 50+ genres. The Uno is following the same strategy that the Saregama Caravan uses. The modes can be changed using the modes button present on top of the speaker or using the supplied remote. The speakers can be paired very easily using the Bluetooth.

The speaker also supports a wide variety of inputs, like AUX, USB, and Line in. There is also support for microphones via the two AUX ports which let you access the Karaoke feature. The speaker also supports reverse charging meaning it can be used as a power bank for your phone.

Sound Quality and Battery

As previously mentioned, the Uno comes with a wide range of pre-stored songs which have been provided by Sony DADC. Sony DADC brings CD-quality songs with incredible bit rates which is a welcome addition. The speaker has a noticeable punch with the 2000W PMPO speaker combo. The speaker provides a good amount of bass, which is a plus and is loved by the Indian audiences. The mids are rich, vocals are crystal clear and so are the lows. There is a surround sound effect which is provided by the tweeters placed on the back side in conjunction with the front firing units.

The speaker gets pretty loud for its size and can easily be used as an entertainment source for small gatherings. There is support for AUX using which you can attach up to two microphones. The mics also bring the Karaoke feature to life and there are controls on top of the speaker to control the mic volume and add Echo if needed.

While the battery numbers aren’t available for the product, on a single charge the speaker will last close to 5 hours. Using the supplied microUSB charger, it takes about 2 hours to top up the battery.
