After teasing the phone for a while, Vivo has now finally launched the Vivo S1 in India. Notably, it’s the first smartphone under the company’s new S-series which primarily focuses on style and substance.

For starters, Vivo S1 is the first smartphone in the country to debut with MediaTek Helio P65 SoC. And amongst other notable highlights, the phone features a Super AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and triple rear cameras. Let’s now talk about its specs and features in detail.

Vivo S1 Specs, Features

The Vivo S1 comes with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a waterdrop notch positioned at the centre. The display further bears a 19:9 aspect ratio and flaunts an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, it gets powered by the 12nm-based octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 chipset which is also a successor to the popular Helio P60 SoC, seen on the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Having said that, the phone comes in three different RAM and storage configurations including 4/128GB, 6/64GB and 6/128GB options.

For photography, the phone gets a triple camera setup at the rear. This includes a 16-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.78 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, there’s a 32-megapixel front camera housed in the water-drop notch.

On the software front, the handset runs FunTouch OS 9, based on Android 9 Pie. All of this is backed by a massive 4,500mAh battery. As an added perk, the phone also bears support for 18W dual-engine fast charging with the supplied charger.

Amongst other features, the Vivo S1 includes a dedicated Assistant button to trigger Google Assistant whenever required. There’s also a built-in Ultra Game mode where users can customise and tweak the settings of each individual game to improve their overall gaming experience and save battery life. This also includes the ability to block calls, hide notifications, and more selectively.
