Samsung Mobiles named most trusted brand in India: Study

Samsung has been adjudged the India’s most trusted mobile brand followed by Sony and LG, along with Nokia and Tata also finding a place in top five, shows study conducted by TRA, formerly Trust Research Advisory.

The study was conducted with 2500 respondents aged 21 to 50 across 16 cities, and the results were declared recently in the annual Brand Trust Report India Study 2016 issued by TRA.

While Samsung improved its position when compared to 2015, Sony reached the second spot from the previously held third position.

Meanwhile, Tata’s trust ranking dipped to fifth position and Reliance ranking fell drastically to the 22nd position from the earlier 14th level.

Sachin Bhonsle, who is the head of research team at TRA said 24 of the 41 companies based in eastern India, have registered a slump from their previous rankings, which includes ITC, Berger Paints, and Emami.

Coming to automobile category, Maruti Suzuki was placed at 11th position, while two-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp had to contend with 14th position.

In the Internet segment, Sundar Pichai’s Google was the most preferred among survey respondents. On the other hand, leading computer manufacturer Dell and large appliance maker Godrej was placed in eighth and ninth positions respectively.

India’s leading bank, ICICI Bank reached top 10 among all other companies, which is a significant improvement over the previous year results.

Among eminent personalities, actor Amitabh Bachchan tops the list followed by Salman Khan, while data Sourav Ganguly was placed at number 10. Meanwhile, KingFisher was picked as the most trusted beverage.

In the FMCG category, Cavinkare has emerged as the most trusted brand followed by Nirma and the recently introduced Patanjali.

Maggi, which was severely affected by controversies, gained 42 ranks from 2015 to occupy 65th position in the trust rank list.
