Moto E3 Power will not be refreshed with Android Nougat

Motorola will not provide Android Nougat update to the recently released Moto E3 Power. According to sources, Moto E3 Power will not probably receive the update because the handset belongs to budget category segment. Interestingly, the handset was launched just one month before at Rs. 7999.

Meanwhile, the company released another statement by stating that few smartphones will not be eligible to get the security update. According to industry analysts, the main reason for the sudden change is mainly attributed to the increase in the release of Moto smartphones in the budget arena.

Moto E3 Power specifications

On the specifications front, the Moto E3 Power features a 5-inch HD IPS display, a 1.0GHz quad-core Mediatek (MTK6735) processor, 2GB RAM alongside 16GB of internal storage. It is possible to expand the internal storage to up to 128GB via microSD card.

Powered by a 3500mAh battery, the Moto E3 Power is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While the rear camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus sensor and a rear LED flashlight, the front-facing shooter offers a 5-megapixel sensor. On the rear, you will find 1W speakers in addition to normal connectivity features.

After Moto E3 Power was released, it had to face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime. The confirmation of unavailability of Android Nougat update is seen as the fact that the handset is struggling to combat competition among Xiaomi and LeEco.
