After a short break, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally hit back into the mid-end budget segment with its Honor 8C smartphone, launched today in India.

Being the company’s fresh offering, the Honor 8C offers an eye-catching design and a good-enough performance bundled with a massive battery, for an affordable price.

As for the features, Honor 8C comes with a 6.26-inch HD+ Notched display in a 19:9 aspect ratio. Next, it boasts a pixel density of 269ppi and an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 86.6%.

Under the hood, the device gets powered by the 14nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. It further carries 4GB of RAM with an option to choose from 32GB and 64GB storage configurations. There’s also a microSD card slot for further storage expansion up to 128GB.

In the optics department, Honor 8C gets a vertically stacked pair of dual cameras at the back. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 and PDAF clubbed with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The notch at the top houses an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Both the cameras are powered by nifty AI features and an LED flash.

On the software front, the device runs EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Backing all of this is a massive 4,000mAh battery. Moreover, the connectivity options like dual-nano SIM slots, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, A-GPS with GLONASS, micro USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack are given onboard.

The company has also unveiled the Honor Band 4 during the event for a mere Rs. 2,499. The all-new Honor Band 4 bears a 0.95-inch OLED display with a layer of 2.5D glass on top. Just like the Mi Band 3, it offers exercise tracking, sleep tracking, pedometer, continuous heart rate monitoring with Huawei TruSeen 2.0 technology, and sedentary reminder. Furthermore, it is powered by a 100mAh battery and also packs in NFC for payments.

Honor 8C Price and Availability

The Honor 8C price in India starts at Rs. 11,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The high-end variant with 64GB storage is tipped at Rs. 12,999. It will be sold exclusively via Amazon.in and HiHonor Store in Magic Night Black, Nebula Purple, Platinum Gold and Aurora Blue colour options. The sales will go live from Dec 10.
