The Android 9 Pie update has started rolling out on a select few devices. For now, Google’s own Pixel phones and Essential PH1 have been upgraded to the OS. In the meantime, companies like Xiaomi, Huawei, Nokia, and HTC have also started prepping their devices to get the update. Now, Motorola has announced a list of devices set to receive the newest Android 9 Pie update this fall.

The Lenovo-owned company has confirmed the update for several devices across its line-up. Motorola has announced a total of 8 devices across the Moto Z, Moto X, and Moto G series. The list of Moto devices slated for Android 9 Pie upgrade include:

  • Moto Z3
  • Moto Z3 Play
  • MotoZ2 Force Edition
  • Moto Z2 Play
  • Moto X4
  • Moto G6
  • Moto G6 Plus
  • Moto G6 Play.

“The more you use your phone, the better the experience gets over time. From the new Intuitive Navigation and Recent App, an improved Do Not Disturb mode, and a colorful settings menu, to anticipated longer battery life, revamped split-screen and more, Android P gives you that piece of pie you’ve been longing for”, wrote Motorola in a blog post.

Android 9 Pie brings several improvements and features, ranging from improved battery life to a more intuitive user interface.

Among new features, Android P will bring dual-camera support from the get-go thanks to the new multi-camera API. Google has also added support for High Efficiency Image Format (HEIF) directly into Android P. Now, this essentially allows the OS to compress images more efficiently without affecting the overall quality. Other notable features that’ll arrive with Android P include Notch support as well as a redesigned launcher and notifications panel.

Google has focused on performance and reliability with its latest mobile OS. Android Pie includes a plethora AI-powered features that are designed to make your phone smarter and simplify your digital life.
