Indian consumer electronics brand Portronics expanded its audio lineup on Monday with the launch of the AuraTrio, a 90W three-piece wireless speaker system designed for home entertainment and outdoor use. The audio setup features a primary 60W main speaker alongside two detachable 15W satellite units, allowing users to switch between a single unit or a spread-out sound setup. The system carries an introductory price of Rs 14,999 and is available across major retail channels in India.

Portronics, established in 2010 and headquartered in New Delhi, builds portable gadgets and personal technology products for the Indian market. With the AuraTrio, the brand targets buyers looking for flexible home audio equipment that transitions into an outdoor sound setup.

Modular Design and Audio Setup

The AuraTrio uses a modular layout where the two 15W satellite speakers attach directly to the sides of the main 60W unit using built-in magnetic docks. When connected, the system functions as a unified front-facing speaker. Users can detach the satellites and place them around a room or outdoor gathering space to create a wider audio area.

The main speaker measures set housing for a 100 x 120mm woofer, two 45mm tweeters, and two passive radiators. This driver configuration handles the low-end frequencies and mid-range audio. The system includes a physical Bassboost mode switch that users can trigger to increase low-frequency output during playback.

For transport, the main unit includes an integrated carrying handle. The exterior features a black textured fabric material over a rigid shell, protecting internal components while giving it a simple look suited for indoor living rooms.

Wireless Features and Hardware Capabilities

The system runs on Bluetooth 5.4 wireless technology and supports Auracast broadcasting. Auracast lets audio transmitters broadcast signal to unlimited nearby receivers without requiring manual app pairing. The three AuraTrio units sync automatically when powered on. Users can also link extra Auracast-enabled speakers to the system to cover larger spaces.

Beside Bluetooth wireless playback, the AuraTrio includes standard physical input ports. The unit houses a USB port for flash drives and a 3.5mm AUX input jack for wired connections to TVs, laptops, or media players. The satellite speakers also feature dedicated Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) support to preserve audio resolution when operating on wired inputs.

All three units carry an IPX6 water-resistance rating. This rating certifies that the speakers can handle high-pressure water streams and rain splashes, making them safe to use near swimming pools or during outdoor events. The satellites can also function as standalone Bluetooth speakers independent of the main unit.

Battery Life and Charging Speeds

Powering the setup is a 4500mAh internal battery inside the main unit, paired with individual 2000mAh batteries in each satellite speaker. Together, the system delivers up to 6 hours of continuous audio playback on a single charge at moderate volume levels.

Charging occurs via USB Type-C ports equipped with 30W Power Delivery (PD) protocol support. The main speaker requires roughly 2.5 hours to charge from zero to full capacity, while each satellite unit takes about 3 hours to reach full charge.

Pricing and Availability

The Portronics AuraTrio carries a maximum retail price (MRP) of Rs 24,999, but Portronics is offering the unit at a special launch price of Rs 14,999 on its official website.

Buyers can purchase the speaker system through Portronics.com, Amazon.in, Flipkart.com, and offline consumer electronics stores across India. Portronics includes a 12-month manufacturer warranty with every purchase covering technical defects.
