Reliance Jio 4G gameplan for India: Partnerships, price cuts ahead of launch

Reliance Jio 4G is about to launch and the company has established strategic partnerships with several companies worldwide and within India. These partnerships are essential for the smooth unveiling of the various services including selling of their own LYF handsets.

Reliance Jio partnership with states in India

Reliance Jio is planning to introduce the 4G services country-wide from the beginning stage itself. To fulfill this objective, the company has installed around 90,000 eco-friendly mobile towers across the 29 states in the country in addition to sharing of 1,00,000 mobile towers run by various operators. Moreover, the company has already laid 250,000 kilometers of optic fiber cable to offer uninterrupted 4G services.

Reliance Jio ties up with Indian telcos

In order to reach out to users both in urban and rural areas, Reliance has entered into an agreement with Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel, America Tower Company, Tower Vision and Ascend Telecom. These companies will share their existing infrastructure to help Reliance Jio to roll out its 4G services.

Well ahead of the official launch, Reliance Jio has acquired Spectrum in 1800MHz 2G spectrum band for Rs. 11,054 crore in February across 14 service areas in the country.

Apple

Reliance Jio has entered into an agreement with Apple. As part of the deal, Apple will sell over million iPhones that could exclusively work on Reliance Jio 4G networks. Apple will also provide enterprise solutions developed by IBM for Reliance Retail. During his recent visit, Tim Cook also revealed an idea of introducing Apple Pay in Reliance stores for mobile-based digital payments.

Samsung

Reliance Jio has entered into a deal with Samsung to sell 4G SIMs with selected handsets with an option of three months of 4G data package free of cost. According to a recent report by a leading tech portal, the Reliance Jio offer will be initially available in a wide range of Samsung Galaxy devices, which includes S7 and S7 edge.

LYF Phone offer

Amazon

Reliance Jio has established e-commerce partnership with Amazon to sell their exclusive LYF smartphones.

Mobile Apps

In partnership with Google Play Store, Reliance has launched several free apps such as Mu Jio, JioChat, JioPlay, JioOnDemand, Jio Beats, JioMags, JioXpressNews, Jio Drive, JioJoin, JioMoney, and JioSecurity. Some of these apps are compatible with Apple store as well.

Moreover, Reliance has entered into a deal with eight reputed communication service providers around the world. The company has tied up with BT Group (UK), Deutsche Telekom AG (Germany), Millicom International Cellular S.A (Luxembourg), OAO Mobile TeleSystems (Russia), Orange Holdings (UK), Rogers Communications (Canada), TeliaSonera AB (Sweden) and Telecom Italia. This deal ensures that Reliance Jio’s 4G services are available worldwide.
