Reliance Jio to launch 4G smartphone LYF Wind 4 at Rs 6799

Telecom operator Reliance Jio will soon introduce an entry – level phone LYF Wind 4 in India, according to a Times of India dated May 21, 2016. The phone will be priced at Rs. 6,799.

The smartphone has a 5 – inch HD display and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop Operating System. LYF Wind 4 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The device comes with 8GB of internal memory which can be extended up to 128GB.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports Dual-SIM with VoLTE, Bluetooth, wi-fi, and GPS. The device also features a Digital DTS Sound technology and offers a high-definition voice calling over (VoLTE) Voice over Long Term Evolution Facility.

In terms of camera, the smartphone sports a 8 megapixels rear camera and a 2 megapixels front camera for selfies. The device is equipped with a powerful 4,000mAH battery.

The smartphone is likely to go head to head with the devices like Coolpad Note 3 Lite, Meizu m2 and Moto 4G. But the VoLTE support and massive 4,000 battery give it an edge over its competitors.

4G Telecom operator Reliance Jio is gearing up to kick – starts its 4G service this year. Recently the company has opened up its services for general public on the trial basis. To access the service the person needs to buy the new SIM, which he can able to buy only after getting an invite from the employee of Reliance Industries group firm.

Currently, there are LYF handsets in the market in a price segment from 5,599 to 19,499. According to Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia (CLSA) “Reliance retail’s LYF smartphone could become a billion dollar brand in 2016-17 and can corner a market share of 7 percent.
