Apple September 7 event: iPad Pro, MacBook Pro upgrade coming alongside iPhone 7?

Apple September 7 event

A Bloomberg report suggests that Apple is doubling up on its iPad Pro lineup. It claims that the Cupertino company is re-developing its features to expand the high-end tablet’s capacity. Apple is also said to be working on some big Mac upgrades that include a new 5K standalone monitor.

Among the other updates, the Bloomberg report claims that Apple is building software that will include a “wider operating-system support” for Apple Pencil, the stylus that is used for tasks such as drawing and navigation. One possible scenario is that the stylus will be supported across more apps such as Safari and iMessage. Apple is also said to be making hardware upgrades for the premium tablet, such as a faster display for the coming year.

Apple MacBook 2016 Release Date, Specs

Apple’s MacBook lineup is about to receive major upgrades, which could arrive as early as October. Among the updates, the MacBook Air is said to come equipped with a USB-C port, and the new iMac with new graphics chips. It is also rumored that Apple will introduce a new MacBook Pro with OLED display above the keyboard, something that’s codenamed as “Dynamic Function Row.”

If a user is on their desktop, the screen will display a virtual representation of the standard functions row, which includes brightness and media controls. When the user is operating an application, the virtual row will display features specific to the tasks that can be performed on it, but volume controls and a switch to show the default functions will always be there. The Safari web browser is said to feature controls for finding and defining terms. The iMovie video editor is going to offer controls for cutting clips and a better volume slider.

It’s unclear if Apple will open the functionalities to the regular third-party apps, such as Chrome and Spotify. However, we do know that macOS Sierra will be a required software that is expected to be released in September.

Apple Event on September 7

While Apple has already set the date of September 7th for a press event that will revolve primarily around the upcoming iPhone 7 and iOS 10. Sources also say that Apple will hold another event, perhaps in late September, to start the new MacBooks. The iPad Pro updates, however, isn’t expected until 2017. Patience is usually the key with the ‘i’ products, as is the case here. The first September event is going to be the biggest of the year.
