Gionee reaches over 10 million customers in India, signs Virat Kohli as brand ambassador

Gionee the leading global smartphone brand reached an astounding 1.20 Crore customers in India. Gionee is an international smartphone brand which sells over 25 million handsets per year worldwide; it ranks at no. 10 in the world smartphone market share.

To celebrate this astounding growth in the Indian market segment, Gionee signed youth role model and Captain of India Cricket team Virat Kohli. In the last year, Gionee had roped in many prominent personalities to promote their brand including Alia Bhatt. Gionee intends to increase the brand stores count across India to 500 and retail representatives to 20,000.

In the past year alone Gionee rose twice as much in the last financial year and had set ambitious targets for this year too. Apart from roping the Captain of Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli, and actor and youth icon Alia Bhatt, Gionee has rolled out a global re-branding with a new logo and a new tagline “Makes Smiles.” The company has signed a MoU to start its manufacturing units in India.

Over the years, Gionee has been expanding its brand visibility through leading Indian personalities and by getting involved on different platforms that appeal to youth. Gionee has been sponsoring IPL Cricket team Kolkata Night Riders, Football Club Shillong Lajong, and the Pro Kabaddi League.
