Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 India release date & price speculations

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a game changer in the sub 15,000 market; it didn’t just bring the company fame, but also made Xiaomi a trusted and reliable brand. Now it looks like the company is already working on the next smartphone in the Note series; the Note 5 which might be launched in the next few weeks along with other Redmi smartphones like the Redmi Note 5A which is a cheaper variant of the original Note 5.

Though the company is silent at the moment regarding the upcoming launch, the rumor mill never stops hunting for new information about the handsets that are set to launch. So, we have compiled a list of details that we so far know about the upcoming Redmi Note 5 smartphone.

Starting off with the display, the Note 5 packs a 5.5-inches display same as the Redmi Note 4 or any Note device for that matter. However, the company kept evolving with regards to the screen quality with every launch and might come with Corning Gorilla Glass or any other protection. If recent developments that surfaced on the internet are to be believed, Xiaomi will be using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 platform with two variants; one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and an another variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model.

If there’s one thing that Xiaomi is lagging behind in the recent times, then it has to be the software update departments. Though the company pushes updates in the form of MIUI, Android updates really take a lot of time to reach even the models that are smash hits. This time with the Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi might launch the device pre-installed with MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat considering Redmi Note 4 just started getting the Nougat update.

Though there is no strong, reliable source to claim, Xiaomi might be following the dual rear camera bandwagon and might launch the Redmi Note 5 with a dual rear camera setup, however, the combination of the setup is a mystery for now. Up front, it is expected to feature a 13-megapixel camera for better selfies and video chats. It will rock a Fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster that Xiaomi is retaining with every Redmi phone since the Redmi Note 3 launch. The Note series is also famous for incredible battery backup; following the same suite, Redmi Note 5 is expected to pack a 3,790mAh battery with Quick charge support not making you wait for the battery to charge completely.
