Tagg Sonic Angle 1 Bluetooth Speaker review

Tagg Sonic Angle Speaker 1

Tagg the Indian brand has been making some of the best quality audio products for a while now. Its popularity has grown at very rapid pace and is now slowly moving towards established players like JBL and Bose.

Now, it is entering the Bluetooth speaker space with its Sonic Angle 1. The Sonic Angle 1 is company only Bluetooth speaker at this price point to come with IPX5 water resistance. The product is available across all popular e-commerce platform at a price of INR 2,999.

We have used the Sonic Angle 1 quite extensively and here’s our review.

Design

The Sonic Angle 1 comes with a triangular log like design with curved corners. The middle part is made out of high-grade metallic grille and we can see two speakers inside the housing. Both the ends are made out of high silicon based plastic with soft touch feel. One side is having Tagg branding and on the other, with tactile buttons—power on/off, Bluetooth on/off, link and volume rockers.

The ports for aux and charging are safely behind a rubberised flap. The speaker also is IPX5 certified meaning its water resistant. The speaker feels very sturdy and is solidly build. There aren’t many products in this price bracket that provide this level of sturdiness and features.

Setup

The Sonic Angle 1 can be paired very easily with iOS and Android devices over Bluetooth. There is no need for an app which cuts down so much effort and simplifies the whole pairing process. When you turn it on the first time, the speaker goes into pairing mode. Android users can go into Bluetooth settings and can see the Tagg Sonic Angle 1 in the available devices.

The Sonic Angle 1 also comes with support for Siri and Google Assistant which works as expected.

Sound Quality and Battery

Talking about the audio quality, the speaker is loud with good mids and highs. The sound signature is more towards bass side and is ideal for loud music. Sometimes the speaker gets too sharp but we liked the level of loudness this speaker can achieve.

Tagg Sonic Angle Speaker 3

The speaker comes with a 2,200mAh battery which on paper might seem low but is completely opposite in real life. We managed to get close to 8 hours of music playback on a single charge.
