Oppo set to launch the new F9 Pro in India on Aug 21

Oppo F9 Pro

Oppo has an event lined up on Aug. 21 which, if recent teasers are to be believed, is aimed at launching the new F9 Pro. The company has also started to send out press invites for the same though details such as pricing is still being kept under wraps.

The F9 Pro otherwise appeals with its looks which, with its tear drop notch at the top does make for a fresh design approach for a phone where iPhone X-like notch has become more of a norm than an exception. Otherwise, its a 6.3-inch full HD+ display that you have at the front, lit up by 1080 x 220 pixels. The display has an aspect ratio of 19:9 which again is in line with current trend.

Powering the phone is a MediaTek Helio P60 SoC that works in tandem with an ARM Mali-G2 MP3 GPU. The India bound F9 Pro is going to have 6 GB of RAM along with 128 GB of storage. The phone also comes with another memory and storage size option of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage though that version is not likely to be sold in the country. Meanwhile, there also is the provision to add another 256 GB of storage via microSD cards.

As for its optics, there is the dual 16 mp primary and 2 mp secondary dualĀ  camera setup at the rear. The primary sensor boasts of f/1.85 aperture while there also is the LED flash to aid in low light shootings. Further, there also is the 25 mp front selfie camera as well of f/1.0 aperture. The selfie cam also boasts of AI backed features to allow for better selfies each time.

Lighting things up will be a 3500mAh battery that boasts of VOOC flash charging. Then there is the 3.5mm headphone jack as well, along with a USB-C port and speaker grille at the bottom. The fingerprint sensor is accommodated at the rear.

Oppo meanwhile is scheduled to launch the F9 Pro in Vietnam on Aug. 15. The phone is priced VDN 7,990,000 there, which roughly translates to around INR. 23,500. There is no surety though if that is what the phone will sell for in India but gives a rough indication nonetheless of what it might cost when it goes on sale in the country.
