OnePlus launched the much-awaited flagship OnePlus 3 on June 14 with premium features like dash charging and other exciting offers. The company has done away with the invite system with the OnePlus 3 launch.
OnePlus 3 has arrived with top-notch specs, but the second generation OnePlus is also available with high-end specifications with a 5.5-inch display and fast charging. OnePlus 3 ships with a Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM coupled with 64GB UFS 2.0 storage. OnePlus 2, on the other hand, features a Snapdragon 810 processor, Adreno 430 graphics in addition to 3GB RAM/16GB eMMC v5.0 and 4GB RAM/64GB storage.
If you look at the specifications of both smartphones, OnePlus 3 excels since it offers latest processor, graphics in addition to improved speed. In OnePlus 2, you had a choice between both 16GB and 64GB storage. But with the evolution of high capacity apps, it looks like OnePlus has decided to throw away 64GB storage by default. Talking about front-facing snapper in OnePlus 3, you have an improved camera of 8MP with Sony IMX179 sensor at our disposal. Specs wise, OnePlus 3 clearly excels in the camera department.
Battery
While OnePlus 3 ships with 3000mAh battery, the OnePlus 2 is equipped with a large 3300mAh battery. However, there is a difference in the technology used. The OnePlus 3 provides support for dash charging technology, which enables you to charge the phone faster without overheating. You will not feel the heat during the fast charging process. OnePlus 2 also includes fast charging with USB Type-C port but there will be heating during the charging process just like other fast charging devices. Dash charging is the main USP in OnePlus 3. Operating Platform
The recently released OnePlus 3 offers the same OS platform based on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. This means you will be able to enjoy all the features of Android M like Doze, Now on Tap, and including new Launcher. Moreover, the special night mode enables you to make use of special hardware to filter blue light and reduce eye strain in the dark. However, OnePlus 2 also included the same OxygenOS but based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The big advantage of OnePlus 3 is that you will be able to play with Android Marshmallow right after unboxing.

Price
The recently released OnePlus 3 is available in Graphite color at Rs. 27,999. However, the 64GB storage variant of OnePlus 2 is available for Rs. 22,999. OnePlus 2 is not available in 16 GB variant on Amazon. OnePlus attributed the increase in the price in the latest release to the integration of higher RAM, intuitive storage technology and advanced features like dash charging.
Verdict
OnePlus 3 is much better than the previous counterpart, OnePlus 2 because of increased RAM, dash charging, enhanced camera and the default integration of Android Marshmallow, which is the latest Android platform. Moreover, OnePlus 3 has been manufactured in full metal unibody with premium space-grade aluminum alloy paired with soft curves for enhanced grip during usage.
