A few days back Motorola has rolled out Android Oreo update to its 12 smartphones. And to continue this trend of updating, the company now confirmed to roll out Oreo update to its popular Moto G4 Plus in the upcoming days.
Motorola confirmed this news via its blog spot site, and they mention ”
It’s been brought to our attention that there were some errors in our marketing materials around Android O upgrades for Moto G4 Plus. This was an oversight on our part and we apologize for this miscommunication. It’s our general practice for the Moto G family to get one major OS upgrade per device, but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule. Watch our software upgrade page for more information.
Moreover, the 12 smartphones which will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo are Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z2 Play, Moto Z2 Force Edition, Moto X4, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S, and the Moto G5S Plus.
To Recall, the Moto G4 Plus was a popular mid-range smartphone and its last update was stuck to Android Nougat operating system. The smartphone was launched way back in May 2016 and its packed with 5.5 inches Full HD display comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Initially, the smartphone came with Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS, which was later updated to Android 7.0 (Nougat).
This dual SIM smartphone is propelled by Snapdragon 617 SoC paired with Adreno 405. Regarding optics, the Moto G4 Plus is equipped with a 16MP rear and 5MP front camera. The smartphone also adheres front mounted fingerprint sensor and its fuelled by a 3000 mAh battery.
