Honor 10 global launch today, India debut on May 16 via Flipkart

Honor 10

The Honor 10 is set for its global debut at an event in London today. This will be simultaneously accompanied by an India launch as well for the device, with availability in the country set from midnight of May 16.

Huawei also said the Honor 10 will be exclusively available from Flipkart, BGR reported. The e-tailer meanwhile is running a mega Big Shopping Days sale which again will last till May 16. That makes the Honor 10 debut to take place on the last day of Flipkart’s sale event. However, the phone getting discounted right away seems unlikely though there might be some freebies accompanying the device. So watch out for any such.

As for reasons to opt for the new Honor 10, well there are plenty. The phone is built around an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC coupled to a 6 GB RAM. The memory is standard across the range though you have the option of 64 GB and 128 GB of storage.

The HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC is also the same that powers the company’s high-end offering, the P20 Pro. While that ensures the Honor 10 will have some raw power to boast of, the chip also supports artificial intelligence based functionalities which in turn are designed to boost the quality of selfies and other shots.

Up front, the Honor 10 sports a 5.84-inch full HD+ LCD panel lit up by 1080 X 2280 pixels. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo right out of the gates, with a layer of company’s own EMUI 8.1 running on top.

As for its imaging capabilites, the Honor 10 comes with a 16 MP and 24 MP dual camera combo at the rear. Salient features of the camera include f/1.8 aperture along with LED flash while the front selfie camera too is of 24 MP. A 3400mAh battery keeps everything running.

Pricing is anybody’s guess at the moment though we sure can expect the base 6 GB RAM/ 64 GB storage version to come for around Rs. 27,000 while the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model to cost around Rs. 32,000. The above prices have been derived from the CNY 2,599 and CNY 2,999 price that the two models sell for in China respectively.
