Trainers around the world, get ready—Pokémon GO is gearing up for another big season. Titled “Delightful Days,” the new season officially kicks off on June 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time and will run through September 2, 2025. And honestly, there’s a lot to look forward to: new Pokémon from the Galar, Hisui, and Paldea regions, Gigantamax forms, seasonal bonuses, and more.
This time around, the focus is on introducing a broader mix of Pokémon from Generation 8 (Galar and Hisui) and Generation 9 (Paldea), bringing some long-awaited favorites into the mobile game for the first time. If you’ve been hoping to catch something new, well, this might be your season.
New Pokémon Arrivals
Let’s start with the big draws. Yamper and its evolution, Boltund, will be barking their way in from the Galar region. Hisuian Lilligant, which has a unique look and typing, is also debuting. And from Paldea, players can now find all forms of Tatsugiri. It’s a nice mix that should offer a bit of something for everyone—collectors and battlers alike.
Beyond the headliners, the season also brings increased appearances for others like Charcadet, Frigibax, and Galarian Ponyta. You might find them in the wild or as part of Research Breakthroughs, so it pays to keep your eyes peeled.
Gigantamax Forms Enter the Fray
Gigantamax is making a bigger splash this season too. Kicking off just before the season starts, Gigantamax Rillaboom debuts in Max Battles on May 31. He won’t be alone for long—Gigantamax Cinderace and Inteleon are slated to follow. It seems like they’re finally giving those Galar starters their time to shine.
Plus, Dynamax Hatenna and others will appear, offering more variety in Max Battle challenges. The RSVP feature is also getting a helpful upgrade, which should make organizing raids with friends a bit smoother.
Season-Long Bonuses and Events
To sweeten the experience, “Delightful Days” comes packed with ongoing bonuses:
- One extra Special Trade daily
- Boosted XP for your first daily catch
- Double the usual duration for Daily Adventure Incense
And then there are the Community Days. This season will host four:
- June Community Day: June 21
- July Community Day Classic: July 5-6
- July Community Day: July 20
- August Community Day: August 30
Details on which Pokémon will headline these events are still under wraps. But the Classic version spanning two days is worth noting—that’s more time to participate.
Pokémon GO Fest 2025
GO Fest is always a major highlight, and 2025 is no exception. In-person events will hit Osaka, Jersey City, and Paris. Then there’s the global GO Fest on June 28-29. You won’t need a ticket to join, but ticket holders will get exclusive perks, like extra Special Research and an encounter with Volcanion.
Also big news: Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta will make their Pokémon GO debut. Details on how to convert your current versions into these forms are still to come.
GO Battle League and Eggs-pedition Access
Season 23 of the GO Battle League returns with several themed cups—Sunshine Cup, Fossil Cup, Hisui Cup, and Catch Cup. Rewards include Stardust, Rare Candy XL, and Elite TMs. New avatar gear inspired by Leon’s Battle Tower outfit from Sword and Shield will also be unlockable.
Eggs-pedition Access is back too. Trainers can purchase monthly tickets to get bonuses and Timed Research. Plus, if you have a ticket, spinning a PokéStop or Gym Photo Disc daily will net you an Incubator.

- 2 km Eggs: Togepi, Spoink, Duskull, Larvesta, Smoliv
- 5 km Eggs: Crabrawler, Komala, Bruxish, Sandygast, Larvesta, Skarmory, Lileep, Anorith, Munchlax, Riolu
- 7 km Eggs: Galarian Meowth, Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Hisuian Voltorb, Galarian Corsola
- 10 km Eggs: Lapras, Toxel, Charcadet, Dreepy, Frigibax, Bagon, Gible, Jangmo-o
As for Routes, you might run into Alolan Vulpix, White Striped Basculin, Galarian Corsola, Hisuian Sneasel, or Pawniard.
Wild Encounters by Habitat
Certain Pokémon will appear more often based on their environment:
- Cities: Pidgeot, Alolan Meowth, Burmy (Trash), Glameow, Scraggy, Litwick, Fidough
- Forests: Galarian Ponyta, Ampharos, Sudowoodo, Burmy (Plant), Patrat, Petil, Gossifleur
- Mountains: Alolan Geodude, Nosepass, Aggron, Burmy (Sandy), Galarian Stunfisk, Bunnelby, Rookidee
- Beaches & Water: Galarian Slowpoke, Gyarados, Mantine, Bidoof, Dewpider, Bruxish, Tadbulb
And yes, regional spawns continue to rotate:
- Northern Hemisphere: Hisuian Voltorb, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Summer Deerling, Goomy, Fomantis
