Xiaomi released its two new selfie-centric smartphones in India at an affordable price with 16 MP front-facing camera. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite, both the smartphones are selfie centric and available exclusively on Amazon.in. The Redmi Y1 comes in two variant; 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM priced at Rs. 8,999 and 10,999 respectively. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite version comes with 13MP front-facing camera and available on Amazon with a price tag of Rs. 6,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is a selfie-centric smartphone which comes with 5.5 inches HD display which is further protected with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. It supports two SIM cards, and at the same time, it supports the microSD card using its dedicated slot in the SIM card tray. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 comes with fingerprint sensor at the back and Xiaomi also highlighted the full metal mid-frame for maximum durability.

The Redmi Y1 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor, Adreno 505 GPU for graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM support. The internal storage is 32GB/64GB according to the RAM size. The front-facing camera is a 16MP sensor with LED flashlight; it comes with f//2.0 aperture and many more features. The rear camera is also a 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, HDR and PDAF supported. To power all this hardware, it comes with 3080 mAh battery for a full day of usage.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is the light version of the Redmi Y1 as the name suggests. It comes with the same size display, 5.5 inch IPS HD panel with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It also comes with the same size of SIM card tray with two SIM card and one microSD card support. It comes with the same camera setup as the Redmi Y1; 13MP rear camera and 16MP front-facing camera.

Redmi Y1 Lite runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and 2GB RAM. The internal storage is 16GB which is expandable using the dedicated microSD card slot. The battery to power the whole hardware is still as big as 3000 mAh and both of the smartphone runs on the latest MIUI 9 which is customized according to Indian usage.
