Get ready, Xbox fans! Microsoft is pulling back the curtain on a slew of upcoming games with its latest Xbox Partner Preview, a digital showcase dedicated to titles from third-party developers. This “no-fluff, all-games” broadcast is set to air this Thursday, October 17th, at 10 AM Pacific / 1 PM Eastern / 6 PM British on Xbox’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
Why should you tune in? Because this 25-minute showcase promises over a dozen new trailers, gameplay reveals, and release date announcements for a diverse lineup of games. We’re talking fresh looks at highly anticipated titles like the Alan Wake 2 expansion, “The Lake House,” and an action-packed new trailer for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Plus, expect updates from developers like Remedy Entertainment, Sega, 505 Games, and many more, with potential surprises around every corner.
Personally, I’m most excited to see more of “The Lake House” expansion. I loved the psychological horror vibes of the original Alan Wake and thought Alan Wake 2 delivered a thrilling continuation of the story. I’m eager to see what new nightmares await in this upcoming DLC. The Like a Dragon series always delivers over-the-top action and quirky humor, so I’m also curious to see what kind of shenanigans Ichiban Kasuga gets into in “The Man Who Erased His Name.”
Here’s what we know will be featured:
- Alan Wake 2: The Lake House Expansion: Get your first in-depth look at the gameplay for this spooky expansion, arriving later this month. Will we see new enemies, locations, and story twists? I can’t wait to find out!
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name: A brand-new trailer showcasing the action-packed adventure of Ichiban Kasuga as he navigates the criminal underworld.
- Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: A glimpse at multiple bosses in this dark fantasy action game. Prepare for epic battles and challenging encounters.
- World Premieres: The showcase promises multiple world premieres, hinting at exciting new game announcements. Could we see a new IP or a surprise sequel?
Where to Watch and How to Maximize Your Experience:
- YouTube: For the best viewing experience, head over to Xbox’s official YouTube channel. They’ll be streaming in glorious 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
- Twitch: You can also catch the stream on Xbox’s Twitch channel.
- Subtitles: The broadcast will include subtitles in multiple languages, making it accessible to a global audience.
Beyond the Confirmed Titles:
While the official announcement highlights a few key games, expect a wider variety of titles to be showcased. Previous Xbox Partner Previews have featured a diverse mix of genres, from indie darlings to AAA blockbusters.
Given the timing, I wouldn’t be surprised to see updates on some previously announced titles that are slated for release in the coming months. Perhaps we’ll get a new trailer for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl or a release date for Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. And who knows, maybe we’ll even get a surprise appearance from Avowed or Hellblade 2!
