Vaio has unveiled its impressive new line of laptops in Japan. The mid-range lappies are available for a base price of Yen.66, 800 at different Sony outlets. The device could be seen in other stores also but for a higher price.
The USP of the new line-up is its color options- White and Copper, Navy and Grey, Yellow and Black and Orange and Khaki.
Vaio C15 laptop Specs
The base model boasts a 15.5-inch display with a resolution of 1366X768 pixels. The device runs on a Celeron 321U processor and is complimented with a 4GB RAM. The company has offered users the option to upgrade the White-Copper and Navy-Grey devices to full HD screens and 8GB RAM with an Intel Core i3 processor. The price tag of the line up for other countries has not been disclosed.
The company had also launched the Vaio Phone Biz smartphone range. The device is based on the Windows 10 Mobile OS platform. The company boasts that it will give a PC-like an experience when connected to an external monitor with the help of Continuum. It has a 5.5-inch screen and is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm 617 processor complemented with 3GB RAM and an internal memory of 16GB. The device is powered by 2,800 mAh battery and has a 13MP primary camera.
Just to remind you, Vaio PC parted ways with Sony in 2014 and sold its business to Japan Industrial Partners.
If you seek aesthetics and willing to spend more to get a product which augurs to your tastes, this is the right product for you. The C15 range of traditional laptops has a unique and appealing design but falls short in capabilities since it does not have the hardware to match the chic looks. The C15 range is lacking in the punch when compared to competitors of the same price range.
However, Vaio is not harping much on the capabilities. The company is targeting an elite group of customers who are ready to shell out just that extra money to buy a product which stands apart in the crowd by the way of looks and not performance.
The company has not indicated if it will release the device in the US or Western markets. The resurrected device maker has now gone for the premium and enterprise ends of the market, and it needs to be seen how successful they are in this new avatar.
