Samsung Veyron Android flip phone specs leak reveal flagship grade specs

The so-called Samsung SM-W2017 (codenamed ‘Veyron’), is rumored to be already in the works and is likely to be officially released in a coming couple of weeks. Specs-wise this is one of the most anticipated Samsung phones this year. The South-Korean is one of the very few remaining manufacturers of flip phones. With the iconic Moto Razrs long gone from the picture, the giant has substantially capitalized on the vacuum created.

The W series is only available in China for now. It must also be noted that quite uncharacteristically, Samsung adds not more than one device every year to the W series. But that one device is usually a high-end smartphone.

Samsung Veyron flip phone Specs

The new Samsung Veyron Android flip phone leaked some time ago, but it wasn’t until yesterday that we got to know some details about the phone’s actual specs. The upcoming clamshell is said to be powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, paired with 4GB RAM. It will also sport a display of 4.2-inch along with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard.

Two days ago, new information about the SM-W2017 showed up online. It suggests that this will be a flip version of Samsung’s Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note series’ flagships. The AnTuTu listing shows the phone with a 12-MP rear camera, which is likely to be the same that the company included in the Galaxy S7.

Moreover, the Samsung SM-W2017 will pack a 5-MP secondary camera and 64GB storage. The Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM have been confirmed once again, but the microSD card slot has not been mentioned, yet. The initial information about the 4.2-inch display didn’t reveal details about the resolution, but AnTuTu says it is going to be a full HD (1080p) screen.

As is expected, the clamshell will come bearing Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box. As far as the images are concerned, nothing has been released. There are no rendered images, either. But it is expected that it will be pretty much the same as its predecessor. After all, the charm of a flip phone is in its traditional look. Changing much will only get in the way of what fans want. The rumor mills are booming with this one. Let’s see what the Korean company has in store!
